The short answer
AC gas refilling in Arjan, Dubai, is booked through Arjan Battery on WhatsApp. It is the routine top-up for a car whose cooling has faded gradually, usually noticed in the first hot weeks of summer. We measure pressures and vent temperature first, because weak cooling is not always low gas, and refill only when the readings say the refrigerant is low.
The pattern is familiar. The AC was fine in February, acceptable in April, and by June it cannot keep up at the lights on Umm Suqeim Street. A system that has lost a little refrigerant over several years behaves exactly like that, and a refill brings it back. A system that lost it in one season has a leak, and a refill only buys weeks.
What the job covers
- Vent temperature and system pressures measured before anything is added
- Refrigerant of the type on the car's label, added to the correct level
- A look for oily marks at joints, the condenser and the compressor
- Condenser fan and cabin filter check
- A straight answer when the problem is not the gas
Signs you need it
- Cooling has faded slowly over months, not overnight
- The cabin takes far longer to cool than it did last summer
- The air is cool but no longer cold on the coldest setting
- The compressor clicks on and off every few seconds
- Several years have passed since the system was last checked
How fading cooling usually goes
Low gas, or something else
Points to low gas
- Cooling faded slowly over a season or longer
- Both sides of the cabin are equally weak
- The compressor clicks on and off every few seconds
- Both gauge readings are lower than they should be for the day's temperature
Not just gas
- Cold on the highway, warm at idle: condenser fan or a blocked condenser
- Cold air but weak airflow: cabin filter or blower
- Cooling stopped in one day: clutch, fuse, relay or belt
- A refill is needed every summer: there is a leak
- An oily, dusty patch on an AC pipe or the condenser marks the leak
How often, and what is normal
- A healthy sealed system
- Does not need gas every year
- Slow natural loss
- A little escapes through hoses and seals over several years
- Sensible check
- Pressures and vent temperature every couple of years, before summer
- Refill every summer
- A leak that should be found and repaired
- Refrigerant type
- R134a or R1234yf as printed under the bonnet, never mixed
- Too much gas
- Cools worse and loads the compressor
Why we measure before we fill
Adding refrigerant to a system that is not low makes things worse. Pressures rise, the air from the vents gets warmer, and the compressor works against a load it was not sized for. Gauge readings also move with the weather: on a 45 degree afternoon the pressures are naturally high, so they are read against the day's temperature and not against a single fixed number.
A check and top-up is a small job, and it can often be done where the car is parked in Arjan, in the basement or on the driveway. If the readings point to a leak or a failed part, we say so and stop. The car then needs AC repair, followed by a full vacuum and gas filling, and that part is done at the workshop.
Before blaming the gas, check the filter
A cabin filter packed with dust cuts the airflow so much that the AC feels weak even when the air leaving the evaporator is properly cold. It sits behind the glovebox on most cars and takes minutes to change. If it has been through a year of Dubai dust, start there.
How AC gas refilling works at your door
No app, no account. One message is enough.
- 1
Send your pin and your car
WhatsApp your live location with the make, model and year, or call. In a basement, add the tower name and bay number.
- 2
Get the price and arrival time
We reply with the battery options that fit, the full price and how long the van will take. Nothing moves until you say yes.
- 3
We test before we fit
The technician checks the old battery and the alternator first. If a jump start or a clean terminal fixes it, that is what you get.
- 4
Pay and drive
Cash, card, Tabby or Tamara at the car. Your warranty of up to 24 months arrives on WhatsApp before the van leaves.
Typical time at the car: 15 to 25 minutes.
Where we fit AC gas refilling
Our vans wait inside Arjan, between Umm Suqeim Street and Hessa Street. Everything inside the circle is a short drive without touching a highway.

AC gas refilling: common questions
Not answered here? Ask on WhatsApp. A person replies, at any hour.
How often does a car AC need gas refilling in Dubai?
There is no fixed interval, because a sealed system does not use up its gas. A small loss through hoses and seals over several years is normal, so a check every couple of years before summer is sensible. A car that needs gas every year has a leak.
How do I know my car AC gas is low?
The cooling fades gradually on both sides of the cabin, the car takes much longer to cool after parking in the sun, and the compressor may click on and off every few seconds. Those signs are a strong hint. Pressure and vent temperature readings are what confirm it.
Can low AC gas damage the compressor?
Yes, over time. The oil that lubricates the compressor is carried around the system by the refrigerant. With a low charge less oil comes back, the compressor runs hotter and cycles more often, and wear speeds up. Sorting a low charge early costs far less than a compressor.
I refilled the gas last summer and the AC is weak again. Why?
Because the gas went somewhere. Common leak points are the condenser at the front, the service valves, hose crimps, the compressor shaft seal and the evaporator. Another refill would repeat the same year. The leak needs finding with dye or a detector, then repair and a full vacuum and fill.
How long does an AC gas refill take, and can it be done at my parking?
A check and top-up usually takes about 20 to 30 minutes with the engine running, so it needs a spot where the car can idle. An open bay or driveway is ideal. In a closed basement we may ask you to bring the car up to ground level first.
