What we check on a Jetour before selling a battery
A flat battery is not always a dead one. These checks take a few minutes at the car.
- The label on the fitted battery: capacity in Ah, cold-cranking amps, and whether it says EFB or AGM.
- Resting voltage. About 12.6V is healthy, 12.2V is half charged and under 12.0V is discharged.
- Cranking test with a conductance tester, which shows remaining state of health and not just today's charge.
- Alternator output with the engine running, which should sit roughly between 13.8 and 14.7V.
- Anything added to the battery posts: light bar relays, fridge sockets, trackers or a dashcam wired for parking mode.

The T2, its accessories and a flat battery
The T2 is sold as an adventure car, and owners treat it like one. A roof light bar, a compressor for airing up after the dunes and a fridge in the boot are all reasonable additions. The trouble starts when they are wired straight to the battery with no cut-off, because some of them keep drawing current long after the engine is off.
If a Jetour goes flat again within days of a new battery, the battery is rarely the cause. We measure the standby drain with everything locked and asleep. - The boxy 2.0 turbo off-roader usually carries an EFB or AGM of 70 to 80Ah. Many are fitted with light bars, fridges and compressors, so we also ask what has been wired to the battery.
- Jetour Dashing
- Both turbo engines use start-stop on most trims, with an EFB or AGM of about 60 to 70Ah. The battery is easy to reach in the engine bay, so the swap is quick once the car is tested.
- Jetour X70 Plus
- The family seven-seater takes a DIN battery of around 60 to 70Ah. Trims with start-stop need EFB; we read the label on the fitted battery to tell which you have.
- Jetour X90 Plus

What battery does the Jetour T2 use?
Most T2 models in the UAE take a 12V DIN-size battery of 70 to 80Ah under the bonnet, and because the 2.0 turbo has start-stop it is usually EFB or AGM. We confirm from the label on your battery, then bring the same technology with matching cranking amps.
Does a Jetour need battery coding after a replacement?
No coding is needed on Jetour models. The car relearns the new battery over the next few drives, and start-stop may stay off until it sees a high enough charge. We still connect a scan tool after fitting to clear any low-voltage faults stored while the old battery was failing.
Why does my Jetour Dashing battery die after a few days parked?
Either the battery has lost capacity to heat, or something is drawing current while the car sleeps. A dashcam in parking mode and a tracker are the usual suspects. We test the battery and measure the standby drain at your parking bay, so you know which of the two you are dealing with.
Can you jump start a Jetour in a basement car park in Dubai?
