Two companies, one name
This is the part most sellers skip. Exide Technologies is a European manufacturer with plants in countries such as Spain, Poland and Portugal, and it also owns the Tudor brand. Exide Industries is an Indian manufacturer, separate in ownership, that has used the Exide name in India for decades. Both export, so both can turn up in a UAE shop.
Neither is a bad battery. They are different ranges with different names on the case. European Exide is sold as Excell, Premium, EFB and AGM. Which is better, Exide or Amaron?
For a Japanese or Korean car without start-stop the two are close, and the right size and a fresh date code matter more than the name. For a start-stop car, the European Exide EFB or AGM lines are suitable while a standard Amaron is not. We test your old battery first and recommend from there.
Does Exide make AGM and start-stop batteries?
