Why a battery in Dubai rarely sees a fourth summer
Heat is what kills batteries here, not cold. Under a closed bonnet in August the electrolyte evaporates faster and the lead grids inside the plates corrode sooner. The same battery that lasts five years in Europe commonly lasts about 2 to 3 years in the UAE. It usually fails without much warning: one slow crank on Monday, a click on Thursday.

How long does a car battery replacement take?
Once the technician is at the car, most replacements take about 15 to 30 minutes including the tests. Cars with the battery in the boot or under a seat, and cars that need registration, take a little longer.
