The parts that do the cooling
Compressor
A belt-driven pump, electric on hybrids and EVs, that pressurises the refrigerant. It fails from low oil, leaks or age.
Condenser
The radiator in front of the engine radiator that sheds the heat. Dust blocks its fins and stones puncture it.
Evaporator
A small radiator behind the dashboard where the cabin air is chilled. Leaks here are slow and hard to see.
Expansion valve
It meters refrigerant into the evaporator. When it sticks, cooling comes and goes or the pipes frost over.
Cabin filter
A paper filter for the incoming air, behind the glovebox on most cars. In Dubai dust it can clog within a year.

Why is my car AC blowing warm air?

Can you repair my car AC at home in Arjan?
