   If the car is dead we wake it from the under-bonnet posts, then test resting voltage, cranking health and alternator output.

   Replace with matching AGM

   Same group size, same or higher cranking amps, vent tube reconnected. A memory saver holds seat, mirror and radio settings where the car allows.

   Scan and settle up

   Faults cleared, start-stop checked. Pay by cash, card, Tabby or Tamara, and the old battery is taken for recycling.

Cadillac Escalade

Uses the same truck battery as the Tahoe and Yukon: group 48 (H6) or 94R (H7) AGM under the bonnet. Air suspension, power steps and a wall of screens mean we fit the higher rating.

Cadillac XT5

The mid-size crossover takes an AGM of about 70Ah and runs start-stop. Battery position is not the same on every version, so we confirm it from the VIN before the technician sets off.

Cadillac XT6

The three-row sibling of the XT5, with the same AGM requirement and more to power: third-row seats, rear AC and extra charging ports. We check position and rating from the VIN.

Cadillac CT5

On most cars the AGM battery is in the boot, which helps weight balance and keeps it away from engine heat. Jump start posts are under the bonnet.

Cadillac CT6

The large saloon carries its battery in the boot and has a heavy electrical load: rear seat screens, massage seats and a big audio system. AGM only, matched to the VIN.

Cadillac ATS

Battery in the boot behind the side trim, an AGM of about 70Ah. With a flat battery the boot may not open, so we power the car from the under-bonnet posts first.

Cadillac CTS

Boot-mounted battery on the last two generations. Older V6 cars took a conventional battery; later ones need AGM. The vent tube must be reconnected because the battery shares air with the cabin.

Cadillac SRX

The earlier crossover keeps a group 48 class battery under the bonnet. Many are now on a third or fourth battery, and corroded terminals are as common as worn-out cells.
