A new car with an ordinary battery problem
Nothing about an Omoda battery is exotic. Petrol cars use standard DIN cases that Camel, Varta and Bosch all make. What wears the battery is the equipment around it: twin screens, surround cameras, a powered tailgate and app connectivity, on top of idle stop-start in Dubai traffic with the AC on full.
Because the cars are recent, the first sign is rarely a dead start. It is stop-start that has gone quiet, a screen that takes longer to boot, or a low battery message after a weekend parked. A battery testing visit at that stage shows whether the battery is failing or only undercharged from short trips.

What battery does an Omoda C5 take?
Most C5 cars take a DIN battery of about 60 to 70Ah under the bonnet. Trims with idle stop-start are built with EFB or AGM and should get the same again. Send a photo of the label and we bring a battery of the same case, capacity and type.
Is the Omoda 5 the same as the Omoda C5?
Yes, it is the same car sold under different names in different markets. For the battery the name does not matter. The engine, the stop-start equipment and the label on the fitted battery decide what we bring, which is why we ask for a photo.
Will a new battery from you affect my Omoda warranty?
We cannot speak for the dealer, so check your warranty booklet or ask them. What we can say is that we fit the same size and technology the car was built with and do not alter any wiring. If the original battery is still covered, claim it there first.
Does the electric Omoda E5 need a 12V battery?
Yes. The high-voltage battery drives the car, but a separate 12V battery powers the locks, screens and the switches that connect the main battery. When the 12V battery is flat the E5 will not wake up. We test it and can boost or replace it on site.
